American Diabetes Association
Tour De Cure for Diabetes
10 June 2007

The Tour de Cure for Diabetes is a bike-ride
fund-raising event which supports the American
Diabetes Association's mission to prevent and cure
diabetes and to improve the lives of all people
affected by diabetes.

This year's Tour de Cure will be on Sunday, 10
June, and we are looking for amateur radio
volunteers to help provide health and safety
communications support for this event. Not only
is this an important charity event, but it's also
a lot of fun, with happy, enthusiastic
participants.

We need people who can provide communications
support at rest stops and several other safety
reporting locations. We also need operators who
can ride the course on bicycle to report problems
and to respond to trouble reports from other
sources. We are also looking for a couple of
people who have vehicles equipped to carry
bicycles and riders; these volunteers would assist
riders whey they, or their bicycles, need a little
help to return to the starting location.

Most of the action is in western Du Page county
and Kane County along the Fox River. The event
starts around 0700 on Sunday 10 June, and usually
winds up around 1500. Some assignments are
released earlier. We understand that not everyone
will be available for the entire event. We still
want your help.

If you can help us, please let me know by e-mail.
Please advise if you have any time constraints or
other limitations. If you have questions or
comments that would be better handled by phone,
please give me a call: 224 232 8529.

Schaumburg ARC volunteers: please also notify Andy
Sharkey K9AND <k9and at comcast.net> of your
availability by adding him as a recipient on your
e-mail.

We are casting a wide net for volunteers, so if
you receive notices about the Tour, please forgive
the intrusion.

Thanks very much for your help!
