Dear Friends:

ARRL Field Day will be held Saturday and Sunday,
June 23-24, 2006.  I encourage all amateurs to
participate in this fun and educational emergency
communications exercise.  For those new to Field
Day, one of the best ways to join in the fun is to
visit a local amateur radio club's Field Day
operation.

I often get calls and e-mails asking where people
can visit a Field Day operation.  I am preparing a
web directory of club/group Field Day sites in
Illinois.  Last year, the directory covered
Northeast Illinois.  This year, I'd like to cover
the entire state, plus any operations in adjacent
states within a short drive from Illinois.  I
intend to list clubs, emergency communications
groups, and any other group Field Day operation
that welcomes visitors.  I will be using
information sent to me by clubs/groups,
supplemented with whatever publicly available
information I can find.

Please help me by sending information about your
club's/group's Field Day.  Please furnish:

  the name of the club/group;

  the location of the Field Day site (preferably
  with an address or latitude and longitude so I can
  find it on a map);

  whether the club/group will be operating
  overnight;

  whether visitors are welcome and any special
  instruction for accessing the site; and

  a URL for the club's/group's Field Day
  information (if you have one).  

If your club's/group's Field Day was listed in
last year's directory and there will be no changes
for 2007, please let me know, and I'll copy the
details from the 2006 listing.  If your club/group
won't be mounting a Field Day operation this year,
please let me know that too.

It is under construction, and I still need to code
the state-wide page.  But it does list the
clubs/groups which have already responded with
information about their Field Day.
