Hello, can you please announce this upcoming contest in your club newsletter or contest announcement website/email distribution?  This is a first time contest and we would REALLY appreciate your help in this grassroots word of mouth type of announcement. If you only have space for a 2 sentence announcement, please mention:

2007 Motorola QSO Party (MOTQP)
Sponsored by the Motorola Amateur Radio Club - Illinois Section
 

Date/Time:
1700Z April 21 until 0300Z April 22, 2007
 

Participation:
EVERYONE, regardless of Motorola affiliation, is welcome to particpate in this contest!
Motorolans may operate at the Motorola club station using the club callsign or at their home QTH using their own callsign. 
 

Bands:
160 through 2 meters, excluding 60, 30, 17, and 12 meters.
 

Modes:
SSB, CW
 
Special band activity times: Club stations are encouraged to spend some time on 20 meters in the afternoon to work DX stations.
Suggested Phone Operating Frequencies: 50.180, 28.380, 21.380, 14.280, 7.180, 3.880, 1.880 MHz
 

Exchange:  
Motorolans and MOT Club stations give RST and office location code (i.e. 59 IL93)
Others give RST and U.S. state, Canadian province, or DX. (i.e. 59 MI, or 59 DX)
 

Operator Categories: 
A) Motorola Club station,
B) Low power Motorolan (USA/Canada) - one operator 150W or less,
C) High power Motorolan (USA/Canada)- one operator greater than 150W,
D) Low power Motorolan (DX) - one operator 150W or less,
E) High power Motorolan (DX)- one operator greater than 150W,
F) Multi-Op Motorolan,
G) Non Motorolan Multi-Op (USA/Canada),
H) Non Motorolan Multi-Op (DX),
J) Low Power Non Motorolan (USA/Canada) - one operator less than 150W,
K) High Power Non Motorolan (USA/Canada) - one operator greater than 150W,
L) Low Power Non Motorolan (DX) - one operator less than 150W,
M) High Power Non Motorolan (DX) - one operator greater than 150W,
 

Scoring:
1 point per phone contact, 2 points per CW contact. Motorolan stations multiply points by the sum of location codes, U.S. states, Canadian provinces, and DXCC countries.  Non-Motorolan stations multiply points by number of location codes. No terrestrial repeater QSOs. Stations may operate only one transmitter at a time. Stations may be worked once per band and mode. Each vehicle is considered one station and must use only one call.
 

Logs:
An official MOTQP summary sheet must accompany your log. Entries without a summary sheet won't be included in the final results. Log shall indicate day/time in UTC, the call of the station worked, the band and mode, RST sent and received, and the location code, state, province, or DX country.

For electronic logs (encouraged): We ask anyone who produces a computer generated log to please submit their log in Cabrillo format via email to motoham at gmail.com. A summary sheet can be downloaded from the MOTQP website and must be included with your entry.
 

Awards:
Certificates will be awarded for highest score in each operator category.  Results will be posted on the MOTQP website. Entries must be postmarked or emailed by May 31, 2007. Entries may be disqualified if the rules of the Motorola QSO Party are not followed. These rules are subject to update.   The latest version of the rules and final contest results may be found at http://www.qsl.net/k9mot/ .
 
QSL Cards: 
QSL cards from Motorola club stations will be provided to participating stations upon request and receipt of return postage (USA addresses provide SASE, international addresses please send $2US or 2 IRC). MOT club stations would appreciate a QSL card from the requesting station in exchange.
