Since I am now attending D-STAR technical training in Huntsville, AL on Saturday, October 21st I have had to cancel my D-STAR presentation previously scheduled at the York Radio Club meeting on Friday, October 20th. Conseqently, the meeting that is being publicized will not include my presentation. I have offered to reschedule my D-STAR presentation to another month and will let everyone know if it is rescheduled.
In the meantime, my presentation will be available at several other upcoming club meetings in northeast Illinois. The Calendar on the Illinois Digital Ham Yahoo group has a complete list of upcoming presentations.

Subject: [ILHam] York Radio Club meets Oct. 20
The Elmhurst-based York Radio Club will hold its
monthly meeting on Friday, Oct. 20, at 8 p.m. The
gathering is free and open to all.
This month's meeting will feature a discussion of
digital radio, including D-Star and other
technologies.
We are also inviting all Chicagoland amateurs
interested in this subject to visit and share their
knowledge, opinions and energy for the future of our
hobby, as it pertains to how to better use our
spectrum and communicate with our fellow amateurs
through digital means. While some say analog is
yesterday's technology, others say it works, so why
bother to re-invent the wheel -- or buy a new radio.
The meeting will be held at the Elmhurst Fire
Department Training Facility, 910 N. Addison Ave., two
blocks south of Grand Avenue and one block west of
York Road.
The club offers testing for all amateur licenses
before the meeting at 7 p.m. For more information, go
to www.yorkradioclub.com.
