The North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters Thursday, June 1, for the
8:00 p.m. CDT net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 KHz,
PL 107.2 Hz) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz, PL 100.0 Hz). However, please
check 2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the operator
pause for about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to
pick up the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, this week's net will include the RAIN
Report and Amateur Radio Newsline. This week's RAIN Report is "FCC 2006 Update Part
One," the first excerpt from the just-completed 2006 Dayton Hamvention FCC
forum. Usually the forum features William Cross. However, because reportedly
there were no major announcements to make about significant rulings, Riley
Hollingsworth, K4ZDH, flew solo this year. Possessing arguably the most recognizable
first name in the U.S. Amateur Radio Service, Riley is a General Counsel with
the Federal Communications Commission. He also is recipient of the
Hamvention's 2006 Special Achievement Award.

Hamvention 2006 is now history and Amateur Radio Newsline brings you the
sights and sounds of ham radio's greatest show on Earth.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Dave, N3BXY, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline,
and after Newsline.

73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
North Shore Radio Club
