The Metro Amateur-Radio Club will participate in Amateur Radio Military
Appreciation Day on May 27 at the Lincolnwood Town Center, the shopping center at
Touhy Avenue and McCormick Boulevard. They will be located on the second floor
near the back entrance, convenient to the Food Court and the large parking lot
from 10 a.m. when the Center stores open until about 4:00 p.m., longer if
conditions warrant. Primary contacts here will be made by echolink. MAC is the
only listed club in Illinois which is participating in this event.
Hams participating will give passersby opportunity to express their thanks to
military personnel via ham radio. This will promote ham radio as well as
offering appreciation to our troops. Copies of the ARRL "Hello" brochure will be
available for interested persons.
Primary echolink nodes will be 6154, 267069, and 147585. IRLP nodes are 9258
and 9450. HF frequencies are 7.230 and 14.330
