The North Shore Radio Club net March 30 at 8:00 p.m. CST will only be on the
club's two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz, PL 107.2 Hz)

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, this week's net will include the RAIN
Report and Amateur Radio Newsline. The RAIN Report is "Riley Hollingsworth - 2006
Special Achievement Award." The Dayton Hamvention has named Riley
Hollingsworth, K4ZDH, the 2006 Special Achievement award winner. Riley has earned  a
reputation as a no nonsense yet classy Special Counsel for the Federal
Communications Commission. In honor of his long-overdue award, RAIN flashes back to an
excerpt from his FCC presentation delivered before an SRO forum at the 2001 Dayton
Hamvention in suburban Dayton, Ohio.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports that scientists find a new way to forecast
sunspots
and that could be good news for D-X'ers. Also, the FCC says that ham radio
won't move to the new Homeland Security Bureau and Canada's national ham
radio society may seek a new entry level class of license.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Mark, WA9IVH, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline,

and after Newsline.

73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
North Shore Radio Club
