The North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters March 2 for the 8:00 p.m.
CST net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz, PL 107.2
Hz) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz, PL 100.0 Hz). However, please check
2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the operator pause for
about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to pick up the
request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, this week's net will include the RAIN
Report and Amateur Radio Newsline. The RAIN Report is "The Value of Risk-Taking"
from December, 2002, produced at the 1989 Dayton Hamvention in suburban Dayton,
Ohio. It's an interview RAIN Founder/Producer, Hap Holly, KC9RP, conducted
with Chicagoan Shel Epstein, K9APE, engineer, businessman and volunteer counsel
for the American Radio Relay League. His observations are just as valid today
as they were 17 years ago.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports SuitSat appears to have ended its mission, the

3Y0X DXpedition winds down and a Louisiana teen is recognized for his
efforts during Hurricane Katrina.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Dave, N3BXY, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline,
and after Newsline.

73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
North Shore Radio Club
