The York Radio Club will hold its June meeting on
Friday, June 16, at 8:00 p.m. The gathering is free
and open to all.

After a brief business meeting, members will discuss
the upcoming Field Day, an annual contest started in
1933 that is designed to test emergency preparedness.
In past years, more than 30,000 Amateur Radio
operators in the United States and Canada have taken
part.

This year's Field Day will be June 24-25. The York
Radio Club will operate from the Elmhurst Fire
Department Training Facility, 910 N. Addison Ave.
Visitors are welcome.

The meeting will also be at the Training Facility, two
blocks south of Grand Avenue and one block west of
York Road.

The club offers testing for all amateur licenses
before the meeting, starting at 7:00 p.m. For more
