The North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters January 12 for the 8:00
p.m. CST net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz, PL 107.2

Hz) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz, PL 100.0 Hz). However, please check
2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the operator pause
for
about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to pick up
the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, this week's net will include the RAIN
Report and Amateur Radio Newsline. The RAIN Report is "University of Amateur
Radio." While you may have heard of the University of Phoenix, it is highly unlikely
you've heard of the University of Amateur Radio. It doesn't really exist ...
or does it? This week RAIN Founder/Producer, Hap Holly, KC9RP, poses that
question to Rich Moseson, W2VU, Editor of CQ magazine and Editorial Director of CQ
VHF and Popular Communications.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports that Austria looks at BPL interference in that

nation, the ARRL says B-P-L has to leave Manassas Virginia and ham radio
saves lives on the air and in cyberspace.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Mark, WA9IVH, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline,
and after Newsline.

73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
North Shore Radio Club
