The North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters Thursday, April 6, for the
8:00 p.m. CDT net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600
KHz, PL 107.2 Hz) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz, PL 100.0 Hz). However,
please check 2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the
operator pause for about a second after keying the microphone to allow the
linkage to pick up the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, this week's net will include the RAIN
Report and Amateur Radio Newsline. The RAIN Report is part 2 of "Riley
Hollingsworth - 2006 Special Achievement Award." The Dayton Hamvention has named FCC
Special Counsel Riley Hollingsworth, K4ZDH, as recipient of the 2006 Special
Achievement award. In honor of that award, we've dug into the RAIN archive to bring
you Riley's talk he gave before a packed forum crowd at the 2001 Dayton
Hamvention in suburban Dayton, Ohio.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports Hams in Hungary have been granted access to 6
meters, an international team of operators are planning to put together a
November 2006 DXpedition to Libya on the air and lots happening in the FCC's
enforcement arena.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Dave, N3BXY, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline,
and after Newsline.

73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
North Shore Radio Club
