The Chicago area's North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters on May 4
for the 8:00 p.m. net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600
Hz., PL 107.2 Hz.) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz., PL 100.0 Hz.). It's
suggested that the operator pause for about a second after keying the microphone to
allow the linkage to pick up the request to transmit, especially on the 440
band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and
AR Newsline. The RAIN report, "The 2005 Dayton Hamvention - A Preview," is part
two of Hap Holly, KC9RP's interview with Gary Descombes, N8EMO, General Chair
of the Dayton Hamvention, scheduled for May 20-22 at the Hara Arena in
suburban Dayton, Ohio.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports on a big tower win in New Mexico, a bill to
limit the National Weather Service and another ham told he will face a license
hearing in Washington D.C.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Marilyn, W9LUO, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline,
and after Newsline.

Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
