Highland Park's North Shore Radio Club Thursday evening net at 8:00 p.m. CST
net will be on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, + 600 Hz, PL 107.2 Hz).

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN
report and AR Newsline. The RAIN report will inform listeners about EchoLink,
considered by some to be the most popular Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
program being heard over Amateur Radio today. The report will feature an excerpt
from a 2004 Dayton Hamvention presentation given by EchoLink's developer,
Jonathan Taylor, K1RFD.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports on the growth of the 60 meter band, a ham
radio rescue in Alaska, and the antenna height issues which may be looming in
Chicago.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Marilyn, W9LUO, at the beginning of the net, after John Wass' ARRL
report and hamfest calendar, between RAIN and Newsline, and after Newsline.

73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
North Shore Radio Club
