The North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters September 1 for the 8:00
p.m. CDT net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz., PL
107.2 Hz.) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz., PL 100.0 Hz.). However, please
check
2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the operator pause
for about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to pick up
the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and
AR Newsline. The RAIN report, "Enhanced Single SideBand" was submitted by
George Bowen, W2XBS, the man and the  mouth behind This Week in Amateur Radio.
George spoke with John Anning, NU9N of Dixon, Illinois about a new twist in
Amateur Radio audio technology Anning has dubbed ESSB or Enhanced Single SideBand.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports on a new era as Italy's Red Cross as it says
yes to ham radio.  Also, the commentary period on restructuring closes in the
United Kingdom and lots of restructuring comments flood into the United States
FCC.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Marilyn, W9LUO, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline,
and after Newsline.

73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
