Highland Park's North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters August 10 for
the 8:00 p.m. net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz.,
PL 107.2 Hz.) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz., PL 100.0 Hz.). However,
please check 2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the
operator pause for about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage
to pick up the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.
In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and
AR Newsline. The RAIN report, "Haney on Club Growth" is a rerun of a
conversation between RAIN's Hap Holly, KC9RP, and ARRL President Jim Haney, W5JBP,
generated discussion nationwide about what repeater/radio clubs can and need to do
to convert guests to members.
Amateur Radio Newsline reports Hams rescue one of their own at sea, Canada
kind of says goodbye to the Morse Code and lots happening on the B-P-L front.
All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Mark, WA9IVH, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline, and
after Newsline.

Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
