Dear Cook County ARES Members and Friends:
The ARRL Emergency Communications Courses are
great training for people interested in Emergency
Communications. As many of you know, due to the
generosity of Uncle Sam and United Technologies,
these courses have been available to ARRL members
at essentially zero cost for the past few years.
Unfortunately, the CNCS grant that has helped pay
for these courses is nearing an end. The courses
will continue to be available, but the
grant-funded reimbursement program will soon end.
However, ARRL members can still qualify for
reimbursement of the course fee by enrolling
during during the May or June 2005 registration
periods, and completing the course by August 31,
2005.
If you'd like to obtain this valuable training
with someone else picking up the tab, I encourage
you to register for the appropriate course AS
EARLY AS POSSIBLE ON THE DAY REGISTRATION OPENS.
Registration for ARECC Level I opens at 12:01 AM
EDT, Monday May 2, 2005. Registration for Level
II opens at 12:01 AM EDT, Monday May 9, 2005.
Registration for Level III opens at 12:01 AM EDT,
Monday May 16, 2005. You can register online at:
<http://www.arrl.org/cce>
Registration is also possible by regular mail and
in-person at the ARRL Expo area at the Dayton
Hamvention (if space in the courses remains
available).
Don't miss this opportunity to get some great
EmComm training at a great price! Please contact
me if you have any questions.
