The North Shore Radio Club will link its Wilmette, Illinois, repeaters on
April 21 for the 8:00 p.m. net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz,
+600 Hz., PL 107.2 Hz.) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz., PL 100.0 Hz.).
It's suggested that the operator pause for about a second after keying the
microphone to allow the linkage to pick up the request to transmit, especially on
the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and
AR Newsline. The RAIN report, "Amateur Radio in India," is a rerun of a June,
2000, RAIN Report delving into the workings of India's National Institute of
Amateur Radio (NIAR) with its Chair, Shrikant Jichkar, VU2SJA. RAIN
Founder/Producer Hap Holly, KC9RP, interviewed Jichkar at the 2000 Dayton Hamvention.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports on ham radio, the Internet and a commercial
satellite working together on an Indian Ocean earthquake relief effort and
another arrest in the case of a missing Arizona ham radio couple.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Mark, WA9IVH, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline, and
after Newsline.
