The North Shore Radio Club will hopefully link its repeaters on April 7 for
the 8:00 p.m. net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz.,
PL 107.2 Hz.) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz., PL 100.0 Hz.). It's
suggested that the operator pause for about a second after keying the microphone to
allow the linkage to pick up the request to transmit, especially on the 440
band.
In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and
AR Newsline. The RAIN report three new awards being sponsored by CQ magazine.
This week RAIN Founder/Producer, Hap Holly, KC9RP, speaks with its Editor, Rich
Moseson, W2VU about them. Also this week Blair Alper, KA9SEQ, reads a silly
item appropriate for RAIN's April 1 date.
Amateur Radio Newsline reports that Ham radio is responding to another Indian
Ocean quake and U-K hams say "no" to a free lifetime license which they fear
could mean the end of the hobby as they know it.
All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by myself
as net control at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline, and
after Newsline.

Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
