Once again Mark, WA9IVH, will be net control for the Thursday evening net of
the North Shore Radio Club on linked repeaters. Check in on the two meter
repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz., PL 107.2 Hz.) or the 440 repeater (442.075
+5MHz., PL 100.0 Hz.). It's suggested that the operator pause for about a second
after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to pick up the request to
transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass' with the local hamfest and ARRL
news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and AR Newsline. The RAIN report
this week continues "The Digital State of Amateur Radio." The ARRL is proposing
to petition the FCC to reallocate the HF ham bands via bandwidth rather than
by spectrum only. Steve Bible, N7HPR, Vice President of TAPR, the Tucson
Amateur Packet Radio Corp. talked about the digital state of Amateur Radio with
RAIN's Founder/Producer, Hap Holly, KC9RP.

Amateur Radio Newsline's David Black, KB4KCH has been following the story of
ham radio's communications during and after Hurricane Frances in Florida and
reports on a number of success stories which should make amateurs proud.

All check-ins are welcome Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. Check-ins are taken by net
control at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline, and after
Newsline.

Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
