Highland Park's North Shore Radio Club will again link its repeaters on
December 30 for the 8:00 p.m. net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz,
+600 Hz., PL 107.2 Hz.) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz., PL 100.0 Hz.).
It's suggested that the operator pause for about a second after keying the
microphone to allow the linkage to pick up the request to transmit, especially on
the 440 band.
In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and ARRL
news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and AR Newsline. The RAIN report
this week features "CQ Celebrates 60" Part Two. Hap Holly, KC9RP, looks at the
evolution of CQ magazine with its Editor, Rich Moseson, W2VU. According to
Moseson, in the 1990s, CQ had a baby ... of sorts.
Amateur Radio Newsline includes an update report about the mystery of the
missing Arizona ham radio couple another illegal high power cordless phone is
taken off the air in Philadelphia. Other topics of interest to hams will also be
covered.
All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline, and after
Newsline.
