Mark, WA9IVH, will be net control for the North Shore Radio Club linked
repeaters on December 9 for the 8:00 p.m. net. Check in on the two meter repeater
(147.345 MHz, +600 Hz., PL 107.2 Hz.) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz., PL
100.0 Hz.). It's suggested that the operator pause for about a second after
keying the microphone to allow the linkage to pick up the request to transmit,
especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and ARRL
news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and AR Newsline. The RAIN report
this week features "Coaxial Facts Revisited"  Part One. Most hams at one time or
another have used or will use coax, Amateur Radio's lifeline. Back in the
late 1980s Hap Holly produced a program on the subject. Due to changes that have
come about in the past 15 years, he felt it appropriate to do so again. This
is a 2003 RAIN rerun of his interview with Ron Stier, W9ICZ, a former,  37-year
employees of Belden Wire and Cable.

Amateur Radio Newsline includes a report on new threat to UHF courtesy of the
of the military and how selling illegal CB sets brings a $125,000 fine to the
seller. Other topics of interest to hams will also be covered.

All check-ins are welcome Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. Check-ins are taken by net
control at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline, and after
Newsline.
