Metro Amateur Radio Club (MAC) will activate Chicago Harbor Lighthouse (USA

Our station will be located aboard the ferry ice-breaker Abegweit, which is
owned by Chicago Yacht Club. The Abegweit (nicknamed Abby) was constructed
by Marine Industries Limited of Sorel (contract 144) from 1944 to 1947 for
the Ministry of Transport of Ottawa at the cost of $4,750,000.00. It has a
length of 113.54 m. and width of 18.62m. It had 4 electric engines of 2,465
hp each. It could run at 16.5 knots. It has a capacity of 950 passengers, 60
vehicles, and 19 railroad wagons. It was used as a ferry between Cape
Tormentine, N.B. and Borden P.E.I..

A special QSL card will be available by sending an SASE to N9BOR at his
callbook address.
