We could further reduce the entire station to a single series resistance
using Thevenin's (oddly, not called Helmholtz, or du Bois-Reymond)
theorem, but that's on paper, and not the actual installation, or
operating conditions.

In this case of initial trouble-shooting, we're looking for erratic, and
variable, across numerous potential issues, over time, not total, in a
single instance. Also take into consideration, the voltage, kept
constant by a decent supply, isn't the same as the current required
through a problematic cord, to operate the device, which is known to
change by time, conditions, and location.

We could get really deep, down to individual components, or check one
thing, at one point, then further system checks if warranted, as we both
described, but, the power cord/connector is still known to be likely
bad, for the reasons described, can create the condition observed,
apparent constant current, radio cuts out at a certain draw, and is the
first place to look.
