[ICOM] Icom 746 full power output spike?

If it does (Your amp tripping off ?) a 9 volt battery and a 50k or bigger potentiometer wired to the alc jack is a fix.
Battery to pot, plus to ground, pot wiper to center of ALC jack.
Use the pot to set output.
Some radios generate full output, then find the internal pot setting, which is an ALC voltage.
With the battery, the voltage is already there. Most radio need -1 to -4 volts.
