Thanks.  I am getting a tech manual for the IC-740.  I will try to fix it first.

Greetings!
The YouTube channel known as “The Radio Shop” covers lots of ICOM repairs. I own an IC-745 and “Buddy”, the host, has a bunch of 745’s that he has featured for various repairs, memory up-grades, etc. I would contact him about IC-740 stuff.

Host of that channel,
You might try Scott Malcolm who has retired his
Malcolm Technical Services business, but MAY
have the parts you need.

If he has not killed his old phone, it was: 360-864-8438

I have a working IC-740 that runs full power but I have problems with two push buttons (comp and pre-amp) and today found the toggle switch to turn off the monitor is frozen on.

Does anyone have old parts or point me to someone who repairs old rigs like the IC-740.
