 Hi joe,
Thanks for the link. I had run across this site before I posted to the group. The concern I have now is the cost of doing this versus the value of that old HT, especially because I already have an IC-37a that does what I want.
Being a cost conscious ham, (read cheap like the rest of us... :) I was hoping that there might be an easier alternative.
Thanks again Joe for you help. Always great to get help from others ideas!73Tom

I don't think Piexx ever made a tone board for the 3AT, but they do make some very small 'universal' boards. This might be a starting point.

Hi Gary and all the others,
Thanks for the info. I checked their site and in their pdf catalog, it said 'no longer available'...
I'm not sure what I'll do at this point.
thanks All!

Communications Specialists did make an SS-64 tone encoder board that would fit inside of an IC-2AT, which is virtually the same radio except for frequency coverage.

I am unsure it that board is still produced. You can check with them http://www.com-spec.com/ss64.htm. The board required a small case modification if you wanted the ability to change tones as it used dip switch or if only one tone was needed one could substitute solder jumpers.

I was always going to add one to my 2AT but never purchased the SS64 tone board.
