Problem solved. I inadvertently had the Notch Filter turned on due to 
operator error.

I have a weird issue with the iC-7610 if wanting to receive am on the 
broadcast band.
In order to receive 1180 khz, I have to dial in 1183 khz!
Otherwise the radio is fine on all other modes.
