John, I have two Icom 706 MKIIG transceivers. I bought them new from C T Morgan Electronics in Chattanooga, Tn. I have had one of them in my 40 ft diesel pusher RV and it has served me well for 15 years. The other one went DEAD on me and I made repairs as per You Tube and also replaced the power connector to two power s4uds on the rear of the transceiver so it is getting a good voltage source.
I would buy one "for parts off ebay but the part I might need will probably be bad and the one I needed. One problem is that final transistors are no longer available for the 706 series. Too bad, because I love the Icom 706 MK IIG.
Good to meet you John. I am a produce of LSU Graduate School of Social Work and practiced it in a public assistance setting as a case worker and supervisor. Then graduated from LSU Law School and am retired after 45 years of trial work. I am retired from both professions.

I have for sale an Icom 706 HF/6m/2m transceiver in very good condition.
It works fine, and the case looks very good with just a small mark here and
there. This is the model that does 100 watts on HF and 6, and 10 watts on
2m.
It has a built in keyer, speech processor, SWR meter, and many other
features. It will transmit on 60 meters (and other places).
It comes with the power cord, manual, and hand mic. I have the original
box, but not the inserts that go with it.
I am asking $390 shipped in the US and can take paypal/check/MO.
I can include a 2m/70cm mag mount antenna for the car for an extra $10.
