Pete,
Maybe I can pay you back a little here for the old Courier 1m paper work
you sent me a couple of years ago.
At one time in the past I was trying to buy a 756 with the lines in the
display. I found a fellow in the Netherlands who had a kit with a new
lcd, but his websites have been taken down since then. By the time I
located a good used display, but the radio was sold within a matter of a
few days while I chased the display down.
Fast forward to today. If you want to replace the display, I found this
http://wb4iuy.blogspot.com/2017/12/display-transplant-into-icom-ic-756-non.html
and I also located a source that appears to be reasonable for the
display, they list it in Dollars, they're located in Poland. They do
indicate they have 2 of the display's mentioned in the article.

Good luck with it.
