[ICOM] ICOM] Antenna Tuner Connectors

Hi Mac -
I'm not sure I fully understand, but I seem to recall watching a video of this installation, or at least a set of photos. Yes, I did watch a video and have added the link.

I occurred to me that the opening for the former matching unit connector / now RX i/o could fairly easily be cut deeper to accommodate both features in a single, deeper opening . It 'appears' there is sufficient room above the circuit board for this.
That assumes one is handy with a Dremel tool, hacksaw(!) or similar and would consider the installation permanent...i.e., not wanting to undo it prior to resale, etc.
Pardon if I've overlooked something as I'm just going by recall...and my recall isn't what it used to be! Also excuse me if I'm otherwise missing the mark.
Kindly,
Dick - KA5KKT

I need to "roll my own" in this case. I will detach the 4-pin connector of my IC-7300 and replace it with an optional board to enable separate receive antenna. I will then drill a small hole in the radio's rear panel to pass the four wires of an an extension to connect the original connector to a duplicate outside the radio. Thus adding a capability and retaining the original.

The LDG IC-PAC-6 tuner cable is plug-n-play with Icoms that support the
mating external tuner connector. It is 6’ long and costs $12 (plus
shipping). The cable also comes in a 14” version. I have used them for
years on LDG tuners and now on a KAT500 with my IC-7610.
