[ICOM] OK, so has anybody on here replace the trimmer caps on the IC-471? any other work?

Jerry, some years back I had the same issue.  It's a little more difficult
than the 271, as you also have to replace the trimmer caps in the front end
board (rf-rgr).  If I remember correctly, it's about 18 caps in all.  Now,
the instruction manual has the full schematics and if it hasn't been lost,
a large fold out of the xray diagrams for all the boards.  There were also
service info on Icom's website about replacing and aligning the trimmers in
the PLL/VCO and RF/YGR boards.  This note mentions to use the "service
manual" for details.  So someone had one somewhere.  The url for the

I don't know if this link is still good.  I seem to remember that it took
me a good part of a day to do the work.  Hope this helps!  73  Dave
