Greg, if you search the eHam reviews, you will find several excellent Icom folks.
Mike Nadeau N1EQ in Maine
Scott Malcolm (MTS) West Coast
SAR in Michigan (I think)
Depends where you are located.
This repair should be a piece of cake for these guys! Don't scrimp on packing! Double boxing, for sure!!!
I have a 761, which is kinda like a 751A with an internal P/S and ant tuner.
let us know how it goes!

Subject: [ICOM] ICOM 751A Servicing
I have an extra ICOM 751A which has a large db loss in the 1st IF that might have been caused by RF into the rcvr port?? I take it that the problem is in the RF board. There are several fixes offered on line, but that looks awful difficult to repair. I'm pretty good at this, having built many radios (Including Heath) but I'm not sure if I could fix this. The radio works beautifully, and I can hear signals when they are fairly loud. I hope I got the right site, as I've been looking all over to find a little help. Thanks, Greg K0CPH
