Hi John,
I am using RS-BA1 both as rig control on a computer at the radio and remote
through my intranet and through the internet on a laptop.
In the beginning it was difficult for me because of the terminology they
used but once I understood that, it went smoothly. Also Bob, K5SM in
Wichita Falls helped me verify the operation over the internet first and he
and I floundered around for about a week getting all aspects going. Both of
us have extensive background in computers as well as radios.
Once it was set, it has been stable and operates well. You can use
Teamviewer or the software itself for control.
Question 2 the answer is yes.
Question 3 is also affirmative. The only real draw back is when you tune
from one end of the band to another it does require a bit more use of the
mouse than I like. but it is easy. The software has a larger waterfall
display and it is completely controllable over the computer. It will take
you a bit of time to really become proficient with it, but it is really a
good piece of software.
On the 7300 the software makes adjusting the radio much easier than using
the screen on the radio and the menu button.

I have a couple of questions about the RS-BA1 software used for radios like
the Icom 7300 and 7100, and hope someone on the list is using this software
and can help.
1. In reading the eham.net reviews the biggest complaints about the
software is getting set up for the remote control aspect of it. How well
does the software installation and use go if you are only using it on the
rig computer? I would be planning on installing the software on the shack
computer and then using Teamviewer to remotelly control it. I am using a
similar setup currently with my Kenwood TS2000 and its ARCP-2000 software
and it is pretty successful.
2. It appears that the software can be used to select CW memories or voice
keyer memories that have been programmed on the radio, is that correct?
3. Is overall tuning the radio, going through different bands, and using
the tuner pretty easy using this software?
