[ICOM] CAT 6 cable for Icom 7100 separation cable

I am looking into getting an Icom 7100 and how I could move the head of the
radio to different locations in the house by using an extra long separation
cable.  An internet search mentioned using a shielded CAT 6 cable for the
separation cable.  Has anyone on the list used this successfully?  I would
probably use a 50 foot run of cable with some torrids on each end to
prevent RFI.
