[ICOM] Icom 706 MK IIG

I have two 706 xcvrs that I bought new several years ago.    One is working well, but the other one is not working. When I hook up the non-working one to the power supply and turn it on, the transceiver  does not  turn on................... no lights, no receive and no transmit.
Are the forgoing  problems typical of the Icom 706 MK IIG?  Have any of you had such a problem with an I com MKIIG?
I will greatly appreciate your input and suggestions regarding the problem exhibited by my Icom MKII G. Thanks for your suggestions. 73, John, K5PGW
