Might be worth opening up the cabinet, removing the UX-9100 (23 cm band 
module), checking the contacts, and then carefully reinstalling the 
module. I have read reports from folks who have had problems getting the 
UT-121 (D-Star module) installed properly and the issue usually boils 
down to the module connectors not being seated properly.
