Had the same problem with my IC-910H on FD. 

I'm told that a 95% sure way to tell if the CI-V port is bad is to measure
the voltage on the center pin for +5v and the shield should be less that 5
ohms to ground. 

If you have no voltage on the center pin than it's bad!

Mine is bad and off to MTS.
