Hi all
I suspect the noise is from the PLL, I unplugged the LO feed and replaced it from the sig gen
and clean.
This unit ha be well tweaked, quite a few jammed broken cores, and the preset pots tend to fall
apart at the slightest touch. thats one of the reasons it was passed to me, the pot in the APC loop
had died, so no output
The PLL board is in its original state no mods to it and no additional filter, fitted to the VCO
( SM5BSZ mod )
At least there is so much space to do things in those early rigs :)
I feel a winter project coming on .
