Mine will do that if it has been left off for a while.  Leave it on for a few hours and then it is OK until I leave it off for a week or so.  I think I have seen posts about it being electrolytic caps in the driver circuit for the bulb that backlights the screen.  It is a significant effort, but not impossible, to repair.  I’ll wait until mine won’t come on at all.

Hi,All-HNY- Just found that I have a problem ?? My display taking a long time to come to full brightness. Just happened. Setting don't correct this. I did turn it off for 3-4 minutes and it came back full,So,am wondering ,a drive issue,voltage ?? TKS, Jerry W8KQ
