[ICOM] IC-765 question

Hi, I have a large Icom collection and although I don't have a 765, I do have a 761. If you do your own repairs as I do, the suggestion of acquiring an ESR meter is HIGHLY recommended!
I now have several and can state that electrolytic caps are the one electronic component that does NOT age well!
I replace hundreds / year.

It's looking like it is in the internal power supply. I disconnected it
and
jumped a Yaesu 13.8 vdc and "instant on". Tried the internal power
supply again
and a short "pause" before coming alive. So, now it is just a
matter of
deciding which components are likely the problem. May start with
all the big
electrolytics. They are pretty old and probably getting
suspect
anyway.

Suggestions?

Marc
