[ICOM] ICOM IC-2100 vs 2100H

[D C _Mac_ Macdonald]

Last November, I bought an IC-2100H that supposedly had an "intermittent" power on switch.  Well, it appears that somebody put reverse polarity on it to cause that "minor" problem. 
 
Question here being, is it worth sending it out to be repaired?  Serial number is 2529930.  Is this unit a European or Asian only version?
