[ICOM] Icom 7200 noise blanker

The 706 rigs were well known for a poor noise blanker and I had
several of them. The NR feature of the MKII DSP was somewhat effective
against ignition noise while mobile. I have one of the Heil noise
canceling headsets (no longer made) that worked quite well with the 706
while mobile in motion as it really cut into the background vehicle
noise. In many states it is not legal to drive while wearing a headset
but apparently rarely enforced from what I see with all the people
listening to their "tunes" or cell etc while driving with ear buds. I
used to teach skiing and would see people skiing with ear buds and no
way could they hear the out of control skier coming up behind them
yelling "Oh shit" or "lookout"! I was told in Canada it was illegal to
ski with your tunes on which is probably a good idea. I used the Heil
while a passenger in the back seat!
