Hi, Phil,
I dug out the 765 user manual and service manual after supper.
It is called tuning knob brake adjustment.
On 765, you turn the rig upside down and looking down directly under the 
knob on the front
frame edge, there is s little hole with Allen screw screw inside, turn 
it to make the feel tight or loose.
I am pretty sure 761 has same kinda set up(I never owned a 761 personally)
