I love my 706g.....

the features of the radio. Even Drake had the rcv and xmit transverters
back 'in the day'....

Those small rigs are basically intended for mobile and portable where
size does matter. When on a "big" antenna the front ends appear to
suffer. I've tried em all and in addition had several 7000s and 897Ds.
Hated 'em, but needed the small size with all the required menus. The
front ends were sadly lacking too when stacked up against rigs like the
7600, 5000MP, and unfortunately I've not had a chance to get acquainted
with the 990S

For the money I like the 7600
When I replace my old 756Pro which has become the second rig, I'm not
sure where I'll go.

I thought my 756 Pro was doing good until I set it up with an A/B switch
comparison. Although still a good rig It was a bit lacking in the
comparison. I'd really like to see how it compares with the 7600
