Bob,

There is nothing wrong with the radio - it is operating as intended.

When you press the front panel Transmit button, the radio goes into transmit 
mode. BUT unless you add modulation from a microphone in SSB _or_ provide a 
keying signal from a key, keyer or bug, there will not be any RF output.

In RTTY, the radio sends the Mark signal (which is an RF carrier at one 
frequency) until you add a keying signal - which would cause the VFO to 
shift to the Space frequency.

    I am having a problem with the transmit button below the power on
button . When i engage it
in cw or ssb mode there is no output shown on the scope and there is no
output . If the radio is in
Rtty mode there is output . I do have output in ssb mode through the
mike , speaking into the mike  .
   Does anyone have an idea as to what is causing this problem . Thanks
for any help you can provide .
