On every radio setup I have had for years, I take all the connections on the back of the radio to terminal strips in a box, mounted on the back of the desk. I do every pin, no matter what, do the DIN plugs one time and never have to move the radio to change the "interface of the week".

Why the manufactures insist on putting mic and key jacks on the front of desk top radio, all my connections tuck under the front of the radio and go to the terminal box.

Every other box, amp, mic and key, in the shack, has a terminal point.
Any changes, just move a jumper wire.

I take care and use a different box to keep RF, audio, and power clean.

I have room behind the desk to get my fat as.... to the connections, but the box(s) could be anywhere.

Don't forget to make a diagram and notes.
