[ICOM] Icom 706 reliability

Recently I sent an email out looking for the filter board for an Icom 706 original because some of the bandpass filter relays on mine are going bad and I thought it might be easier to replace the entire board.  I heard back from 1 or 2 other people saying they needed the same board.

That got me wondering, is this a common problem with the Icom 706 original?  It is getting to be 16 years old or so.  Are other common problems starting to show up in them that I should be aware of?
