I concur with Larry's comments. I didn't know about the crystal oven. Maybe
that's what I hear all the time (a whirring sound).
I have found the USB connection really helpful. I use nGenLog for logging
and DXSpotting and the point and click control is great. Using TRLog for
contesting with seamless CW. I have had problems connecting my old National
NCL-2000 amplifier to the rig with no success so far (including the buffer
interface). Lot of neat enhancements over my IC-746Pro. I especially like
being able to label my stored CW memory locations. The split operation is a
dream.
