[ICOM] Hei iCM

The Heil ICM microphone is an electret (high output) microphone that was designed for the older Icom radios usually requiring an amplified microphone. They usually give good results on the newer Icom radios as well, but usually require a lower mic gain setting.  The lower output dynamic microphones will usually require a higher mic setting. This fact should be remembered when comparing microphones of different types.

Hi Mike, I have BOTH the ICM and the PR 781, I tried both on my 7410 (numerous A/B tests) now a year old and got much better audio reports from the 781 with adjustments and mic gain being the same (mic gain set to 2 o clock). I moved my ICM over to my 271A where it works great. I had used the ICM before on my 746 PRO, best regards, Gil

I'm going to buy a brand new Heil iCM boom microphone and put it on an Icom 
IC-7410. Has anyone used the iCM on the IC-7410?

I always got really good audio reports with the iCM on my Icom IC-746 Pro 
and IC-756 Pro 3.
