[ICOM] Icom 706MKII question

On the Icom 706MKII (not the MKIIG) can you have the filter settings
different on each VFO when running split?  I have an Icom 706 original, and
if you use the narrow CW filter on VFO A, VFO B will also use the narrow
filter.  I know on the MKIIG you can have different filter settings for
each VFO, but how about for the MKII?  When running a split frequency
pileup on CW, I like to have the narrow filter in line for the receive
frequency to hear the DX, but it is nice to have the other VFO (the
transmit one) in a 2.4khz bandwidth so when you use the XFC button you can
find the station he is working easier.  I have resisted putting the 250hz
CW filter in my 706 original and stuck with the 500hz one due to this
limitation.
